Purely physical adsorption oil purification
No chemicals are dosed and no fractions are removed. Contamination is taken out by physical adsorption and permeation, and the base specification of the oil is unchanged.
Solids out
Powdered contamination and the oxidised gum that mesh and cloth filters leave behind are held in the cartridge.
Water out
Free and entrained water is removed as the oil permeates the cartridge under controlled temperature.
Colour and odour down
Decolourising and deodorising come with the same pass, along with a reduction in acid value.

Oils below that flash point — diesel, petrol, volatile oils — require the air-pump configuration. The cleanliness class is the equipment's design rating; the result achieved depends on the condition of the incoming oil.
